+wire adapter
The +wire® product enables installation of a smart thermostat (such as Nest® or Ecobee®) in single-family, multi-family, and mobile homes where there is no common-wire available at the thermostat location of the building. Unlike other products, the +wire® requires only two wires in the wall. All other adapters require at least three wires to operate. The +wire® enables a smart thermostat to control heat-only HVAC systems with only a red and white wire. The +wire® can add a fan-only function to heat-only HVAC systems.
+wire adapter with transformer
The +wire® with transformer has all the features of the +wire® adapter and includes a 24VAC transformer to allow the use of a smart thermostat (such as Nest® or Ecobee®) on millivolt gas fireplaces or furnaces. The transformer is installed at the heating element, and no extra wires are connected to the smart thermostat. The +wire® eliminates unsightly power wires from a transformer up the wall to the thermostat.
